I think I have a new solution!

  • Not Blank: Filter so the property is Greater Than the earliest (0th) ASCII character, namely the NUL character: �.

  • Is Blank: Filter so the property is Less Than the NUL character (�).

    Alternatively, one may filter so the property is Like this wildcard expression: * *.
