Hi Phocas Community

One of the requests we got from our recent feedback loop with members and customers was to provide more avenues for customers to connect with other customers. One way to do that is through this forum, but we are also introducing a new call series called a Phocas Community Learning Circle. This is open to anyone in our community, with the first one suiting Australia, New Zealand and West Coast US time zone (end of the day for west coast US). We will rotate around the timing so that different time zones can take part in future calls. The focus of the July call will be Reforecasting. We will split into groups, consider a scenario and use guided discussion prompts to talk as a group about strategies to approach - learning from the knowledge and expertise of others across regions and industries!

This week we ran our first community learning circle. We divided into breakout rooms and discussed common scenarios people face around reforecasting. An example of one of the scenarios and discussion questions is below.

We had 20 people join the call and heard discussions around reforecasting on shifting ground, building assumptions, version control, how much detail is too much detail and stress testing budgets. Most people on the call allowed about 4-6 weeks for budgets from start to approval regardless of their industry.

We will host more community calls on different topics moving forward - so keep an eye out here or share with us directly if there is something you’d like to hear from other Phocas users on!
