I really enjoy the Phocas hightlights/product updates session you started up, besides being well organized, focused and to-the-point, it is great content being showcased. Both the already launched and the stuff coming up.
One thing I would like to ask about; your MCP-server concept mentioned earlier this year in that session. There was a short tease for it, it is briefly mentioned on the website (Secure Phocas AI | Connected to your data | Faster answers, more value) but besides that nothing have been mentioned - and on last product update session last week it was not mentioned either.
An MCP would naturally let clients do work OUTSIDE Phocas, similar if there was API’s provided. Some clients requests this and would like to interact with the Phocas-stored/generated data in ways not possible or available within Phocas. Yes, more and more AI-driven features are coming into Phocas, I believe there will always be a value for (some) clients to interact with Phocas data in others ways and to incorporate Phocas into a larger ecosystem. My thoughts are also evolving around whether Phocas strategy maybe is to NOT provide a MCP/API interface at all - since it have not been mentioned more.
I’m curious whether the community have any thoughts on this and the API/MCP/Agentic-interaction capabilities provided by Phocas. But also if the MCP-server concepts is still on the Phocas roadmap ![]()
