One of the starkest differences between Phocas and other BI Platforms is the customisability of charts. In PowerBI and Google Looker Studio, there are significantly more chart formats to choose from and all different aspects of the charts can be customised, most importantly, the colour schemes. Phocas has an embarrassingly bare set of options to design charts that struggle to justify the cost of Phocas.
One quick win that could help in this regard would be to provide the option of using Vega Specifications to draw charts. This could also be made more accessible to non-coding users by providing existing chart styles as starting points or connecting it to a LLM to generate or modify a chart style using natural language.
