When mapping accounts in the Financial Statement module’s Statement window - in the Accounts tab - ONLY account which have actuals transactions linked is shown.
Accounts without transactions, cannot be mapped.
Instead, on would always keep a sharp eye on the “Suspense” section below, or make a Alert showing accounts without a Category.
Would it not be possible to add an option of maybe “Also show accounts without transactions” or similar, to the Accounts-tab in the Statements window?
I’ve recently picked up the Financial Statements Product Manager role and would like to thank you for your suggestions. We are looking to improve the way we map accounts later on in the year and will look to include both the activity filter to enable you to map accounts without transactions and more filter options within this work.
To my knowledge and latest experience, this is still an issue in the mapping-tab.
If an account does not have any actual transactions, the account cannot be mapped. It just doesn’t show in the list.
EVEN if there are budget-rows for the account, it doesn’t show either. Here the budget-figures will end up under the Suspense-row in the Statement.
How to get around this, now that the UI doesn’t allow for it?
Just a comment to this one, with a workaround - adding the Account dimension (with filter on only posting accounts) to the fact/transaction stream and mapping the AccountDimension and a dummy-zero-measure to any Measure, will make all accounts appear in the mappings (and in BF), despite no transactions are present yet.
